About
Dr. Chipko is a long time Richmond resident who has dedicated his schooling and training to the greater Richmond area. His goal-oriented treatment plans are patient-centered with a commitment to collaboration with each patient’s clinical team. He believes in the value of each patient, and their support system, knowing as much as they can about their diagnosis to educate and empower.

His clinical training and interests include conventional radiotherapy as well as more advanced technology with brachytherapy, stereotactic body radiotherapy, and cranial stereotactic radiosurgery. He sees and treats malignancies of all sites including but not limited to prostate, breast, lung, skin, brain, and head and neck. He also has experience treating benign conditions such as Dupuytren’s disease and osteoarthritis.

His research experience focused on advanced imaging techniques to assess radiation response, radiotherapy treatment, and long term follow up from stereotactic body radiotherapy. He has publications in multiple journals including first author in Practical Radiation Oncology and Brachytherapy.

When not treating patients, he enjoys running, golfing, and exploring Richmond’s food scene.
​
He will be seeing patients at Richmond Radiation Oncology Center- Reynolds Crossing and St. Mary’s Hospital.
